  Physics Tip

Viscosity
The property of a liquid that makes it resist flow or any change in the arrangement of its molecules. The higher the viscosity, the "thicker" a liquid seems.

  Physics Quote

It is impossible to trap modern physics into predicting anything with perfect determinism because it deals with probabilities from the outset.
    Sir Arthur Eddington (1882 - 1944)

I am a sophmore at the University of Miami majoring in neuroscience. My interests include cosmology, particle physics, and quantum mechanics. Right now I'm looking into pursuing an MD/PhD program in neuroscience or biophysics and hope to approach cognitive neuroscience from the angle of quantum biology. When I'm not studying or reading journals, I'm also an administrator over at scienceforums.net. From time to time, I try to get out and play some tennis and golf and various other things "normal" people do.

I studied Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology at Oxford University, graduating in 2002. I spent ten months living in France and recently returned to the UK. I think the link between stress and health(psychoneuroimmunology) is especially interesting and I think communicating science accessibly is really important.

His current topics of interest include Theoretical Astrophysics, High-Energy Physics and Material Science. Nathan also enjoys mathematics and is always up for a challenging problem to solve. He is currently at work on his first science fiction novel that should be finished during the summer of 2003. If Nate isn’t thinking about physics, grinding through a tough multivariable calculus problem or working on his novel he’ll most likely be playing the guitar or relaxing after an exhausting day.

I am a 17 year old HS student, with a plan to major in Physics.  The highest degree I hope to attain is a Ph.D. in elementary particle physics.  I enjoy reading scientific literature and textbooks as well as Anglo-Saxon Lit., French folklore, English fairy tales, and philosophy.  I am the owner of one of the most extensive collections of Francois Marie Areout's (Voltaire) writings; published in 1800's by St. Hubert's Guild.  I also find space-time for playing the trumpet, acting, and numerous other activities that have slipped my mind.  I have won a major science comp. at the Univ. at Buffalo with a project dealing with the constructiona and research of high voltage resonant transformers and their interactions(double).

I always had a strong interested in physics and chemistry. In fact, I was well on my way to an exciting future in physics when I met my first computer. That event changed the future course of my life and culminated with a BS Degree in Computer Science from A&M University in 1984. My
true love remains physics and my goal is to make an impact in that field through my website, www.toequest.com, by educating the public on the Theory of Everything, both what it is and what it means. I'm also using my organizational and programming skills to facilitating research in that area.

I was born on the island of Trinidad in
the West Indies and was always fascinated with science
and how things work (thanks to repetitive blackouts
and lots of old books). I moved with by brothers and
sisters to Brooklyn, New York when I was around 10 and
grew fascinated with modern physics. When I started
trying to learn it on my own, I found mathematical
structures that were equally fascinating. Now I'm
studying for a Bachelor's in physics and mathematics.
